Health and safety guidelines for Experience Hosts and guests

As the world reopens and Experiences resume after COVID-19 closures, it’s important for us all to act responsibly to help protect each other’s health and safety. With that in mind, we’ve created a set of COVID-19 health and safety guidelines for Hosts and guests of Hubsplit experiences, based on guidance from experts such as the World Health Organization and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

To ensure the well-being of the Hubsplit community, the platform has put forward specific measures and recommendations for both Hosts and guests. Recognizing that absolute safety cannot be guaranteed, Hubsplit encourages users, especially those in higher risk categories, to seek professional advice and exercise additional caution.

Mandatory Safety Requirements for Hosts & Guests:

  1. Masks & Social Distancing: Adhere to local laws or guidelines related to mask-wearing and maintain a distance of at least 6 feet or 2 meters.
  2. Limited Group Size: Hosts should restrict their Experience to no more than 10 participants, inclusive of Hosts or Co-Hosts.
  3. Sanitation: Hubsplit’s cleaning guidelines should be followed meticulously, especially during and after an Experience.

Travel and Participation Advisory:

  • Refrain from joining an Experience if:
    • Infected or tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 30 days.
    • Awaiting test results.
    • Showing symptoms or concerned about potential infection.
    • Exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the previous 14 days.

Hand Hygiene:

  • Wash hands with soap for a minimum of 20 seconds at essential intervals.
  • If soap and water are unavailable, use hand sanitizer with a minimum of 60% alcohol content.
  • Avoid shared dining; choose individually plated meals over buffets.

For Those Who Test Positive Post-Experience:

  • Alert any potentially exposed individuals and relevant local authorities.

Adapting Experiences for Hosts:

  1. Minimize Physical Contact: Alter activities to eliminate physical touch between participants.
  2. Sanitize Equipment: Ensure cleanliness of tools and gear during and between Experiences.
  3. Modify Locations:
    • Limit indoor areas for guests.
    • Opt for outdoor venues or shift meeting points to avoid crowded places.
    • Stay updated with local advisories and regulations, especially if visiting public spots.
  4. Food Safety:
    • Maintain social distancing while eating or drinking.
    • Prefer outdoor dining or takeaway options.
    • Avoid self-serving stations.
    • Use disposable utensils and plates or ensure thorough cleaning.
  5. Indoor Ventilation: Ensure proper ventilation by maintaining air circulation systems and opening windows and doors when possible.

Lastly, while updating listings, Hosts should accurately communicate precautions taken but avoid making unsubstantiated claims like labeling their Experience as “COVID-free.”

By adhering to these guidelines, the Hubsplit community can contribute to a safer environment for all its members.
